　株式会社コナミデジタルエンタテインメントは、プレイステーション 3/Xbox 360用サッカーゲーム「ワールドサッカーウイニングイレブン2009」を11月27日に発売する。価格は7,980円。

　「ワールドサッカーウイニングイレブン2009」は、同社の人気サッカーゲーム「ウイニングイレブン」シリーズの最新作。リアルなサッカー体験を実現するために、操作感覚やAI、選手の動き(モーション)が全面的に改良されるほか、映像や音声などにも手が加えられる。

　本作には、UEFA(ヨーロッパサッカー連盟)とライセンス契約を締結することにより、欧州クラブチームの頂点を決めるリーグ戦「UEFA チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)」モードを搭載。大会のテーマソングである「CLアンセム」や大会公式ボールなどが忠実に再現される。

　また「ワールドサッカーウイニングイレブン2009」が、10月9日から12日(一般公開日は11日と12日)にかけて幕張メッセで開催される「東京ゲームショウ2008」にプレイアブル出展される。サッカーの新たな魅力を体験できる新モードも公開されるという。

　なお今後の「ウイニングイレブン」シリーズタイトルの発売予定スケジュールも公開された。それによると、プレイステーション 2用「ワールドサッカーウイニングイレブン2009(仮)」とPSP用「ワールドサッカーウイニングイレブンユビキタスエヴォリューション2009 (仮)」、さらにWii用「ウイニングイレブンプレーメーカー2009 (仮)」の3本が、それぞれ2009年に発売される予定となっている。
