エレクトロニック・アーツ社株式会社は、Wii「MONOPOLY (日本語版）」を3月19日に発売する。価格は6,090円。

　「MONOPOLY」は、ダイスを振り出た目の数だけすすみ、進んだマスに従って他のプレーヤーと不動産をめぐって駆け引きを行なうボードゲーム。シンプルなルールではあるが、奥の深さに定評があり今も根強いファンが定着している。

　Wii版「MONOPOLY（日本語版）」は、従来プレーヤーによって行なわれていた計算などの作業をWiiに任せ、戦略やコミュニケーションに専念できるようになっている。また、ローカルルールの設定が可能になっており、細かくルール設定することができる。なおマルチプレイでは、最大4人までの対戦が可能。ゲームモードには、細かいルール設定が可能な「MONOPOLYエディション」、MONOPOLYのマップを使用した簡単なルールのMONOPOLY「Richestエディション」、Richestエディションで遊べるミニゲームを練習できる「ミニゲーム」といった3つのモードをプレイできる。
