　エレクトロニック・アーツ株式会社は、iモード用ゴルフゲームアプリ「タイガー・ウッズ PGA TOUR」を3月6日より配信する。利用料金は月額315円。対応機種は、FOMA 901i/902iシリーズ。

　「タイガー・ウッズ PGA TOUR」は、タイガー・ウッズをはじめ、ビジェイ・シン、レティーフ・グーセンといった一流プロゴルファーを操作してプレイできるゴルフゲーム。コースはPGA TOURで実際に使われているリンクスコース「ペブルビーチ」と、“アイランドグリーン”で知られる「TPCソーグラス」の2つがプレイできる。

　一定のプレイ期間を設定し、賞金をかけて他のプレーヤーとスコアを競う「オープンコンペ」を搭載。使用ゴルファーやスキルレベル、参加時間、参加費などで、好みの条件のコンペを検索して参加できる。また、メールで招待した知り合いのみが参加できる「プライベートコンペ」も開催できる。

　今後もアプリの拡張が続けられ、4月にはオリジナルゴルファーを育成するモードを追加予定。さらにその後も、ゴルファーやコースを毎月1回のペースで追加予定としている。

　同社は海外では携帯アプリを配信しているが、日本では今回が初めて。「タイガー・ウッズ PGA TOUR」は、日本で独自に制作されたもので、海外で配信されている同名のタイトルとは異なる。
