クナリ族の蜂起から数年後、街の子爵の座は依然として空席となっていたが、テンプル騎士団長のメレディスは、実質的に街の最高権力者として街の執政を行なっていた。その度が過ぎた魔道士に対する圧政に耐えかねた筆頭魔道士のオーシノは、テンプル騎士団への反乱を決意する
