ホビージャパンはファンタジー・ロールプレイグ・ゲーム「ダンジョンズ＆ドラゴンズ（D&D）」第5版を10月に発売する。価格は「プレイヤーズ・ハンドブック」が6,000円（税別）で、入門セットとなる「スターター・セット」が3,000円（税別）。
「D&D」はゲーム機ではなく紙と鉛筆、ダイスを用いて、ルールブックに記載されたルールとプレーヤー同士の対話で進行する「テーブルトークRPG（TRPG）」の元祖といえるゲーム。今回発売される第5版は、2014年に発売された英語版を完全翻訳したもの。
同時に発売される「スターター・セット」は、ゲームで使用する6種のダイスに加えて作成済みのキャラクターシート5種、簡単にプレイできるシナリオが付属。初めてTRPGを遊ぶプレーヤーに最適な入門書となっている。
